Hiding some documents in the envelope

Modified on Tue, 11 Jun at 3:21 PM

Hiding some documents in an envelope can be useful in cases where you want to keep several documents in one envelope for simplicity, but some of the signatories cannot see some of the documents.

  • A typical example is a three-party agreement where one of the signatories does not get to see what the other two do, such as financing agreements that involve multiple documents signed between the customer, the supplier and the financier, or real estate agreements between the seller, the buyer and the broker,,

  • Another example is documents that only the proposer's representatives and not the counterparties are supposed to see e.g. a shirt, a cover sheet, an internal report delivered from an integrated application.

  • etc.

How does it work?

The first step is to upload the document and a few attachments, after uploading you click on the Create Proposal button.

Then you add the signer and proceed to the content of the document.

After clicking on the top button mentioned, you should see a list of documents on the left side of the application.

By clicking on the little eye icon next to the document name, you can set who can and cannot see the document. This cannot be set on the main document, which is visible to everyone.

After setting up document visibility, place the signature fields and send the document.

The counterparty will then only see documents that are intended for them.
