If the expiration of a document draft is approaching and someone hasn't managed to sign it yet, you can extend the document's validity.
The time set for signing has not yet elapsed
The first option is that the draft hasn't expired yet and you just need to extend its validity.
Click on the document to display it in preview. For the document, additional editing options are hidden under the three dots at the top right next to the Send button, where you'll also find the option Extend validity.

The time set for signing has already elapsed
It may also happen that the deadline for signing the document draft has already passed, meaning it has expired.
What you can do with an expired document:
- An expired document can only be deleted by its author via Delete document. If the expired document is deleted, the credit is returned to the account of the workspace owner - not necessarily the document's author.
- On an expired document, its author can choose Edit document and send the document for signing again. In this case, no additional credit is deducted. The application redirects you to the Document content step, where you sign the document again or send it for signing to the counterparty.

The option to delete or edit an expired document. Only the document's author has it.

After Edit, the document switches to the Document content state, where you can choose Continue to signing and re-trigger the entire signing process.
How to change the expiration period of a document draft
The expiration period of a document draft for signing is set in Workspace settings, or when creating a document in the General settings section.
