This feature allows you to control access to documents after they have been signed and prevents unauthorized distribution via email attachments.
How to activate the feature?
Log in to your workspace.
Go to Settings and check the SMS PIN before downloading document option.
The setting is applied to all newly uploaded documents.
How does it work?
For senders: after activating this feature, the recipient (counterparty) will not automatically receive the signed document as an attachment in the email. Instead, they will receive a link to download the document.
For the recipient: after clicking on the link in the email, the recipient is prompted to enter the SMS code that was delivered to their phone number. After successful verification of the code, the recipient will be able to download the document.
Important notice
Locking attachments: the functionality does not lock attachments (no attachments are sent). The document itself, if stored outside the secure link, is not protected.
Why use this feature?
Increased security: documents are only accessible to authenticated recipients.
Access control: documents are not freely distributed via email, reducing the risk of misuse.
