Customizing and Editing Signature Fields

You can edit the signature fields added to your document in various ways.

Click in a signature field to display four editing options.

• Size adjustment
• To remove a signature from a document
• Placing a person's signature in multiple places on a document
• Remove date and location

Size adjustment

When you click the double-sided arrow, a tiny dot appears on the opposite side to make the signature box larger or smaller to fit the surrounding text of the document.

To remove a signature from a document

Use the trash icon to put the signature field back on the bar and then add the field elsewhere in the document. You can also move the signature field elsewhere using the mouse by simply grabbing and then releasing it.

Placing a person's signature in multiple places on a document

If you need a user to sign in multiple places in a document, you can simply copy the signature field.

Click the third icon in the sequence, move to the location in the document where you want to add another signature, and place it there with the mouse.

To remove the duplicate signature field created in this way, click on the trash can icon. This time the signature field will not return to the bar, as it is only a duplicate.

Remove date and location

If your embedded document contains the items mentioned above, you can remove them from the signature field using the gear icon.

The person will then just sign and will not fill in the place or date next to the signature.

Once you have customized the signature fields to your liking, you can submit the document by default by clicking Continue to Sign Document.

If you have a multi-page document, we recommend that you take care when placing the signature boxes and add them so that they do not overlap onto the next page. You can tell the end of one page and the beginning of the second page in the preview by the dashed line:

If the signature fields overlap into the next page, the signature would not be visible in the resulting PDF or would be cropped.
