Verification from the Verified Person's Perspective

Modified on Sat, 3 Oct at 2:59 PM

ℹ️ The new version of Signi verification will be released to production during September 2026. Until then, the screens in the app may differ slightly from the description.

This article describes what the person who is to be verified will see and do — the counterparty to a document or a contact to whom you sent a verification request. It's useful when you want to explain to the verified person in advance what to expect.

Step by step

  1. Invitation email — the verified person receives an email from Signi with a link. For a document, it's the same invitation as for signing, just with a note that identity verification will take place first.
  2. Choosing the verification method — if you offered two verification groups, they pick one (e.g. "with bank identity" or "with ID and selfie").
  3. Going through the checks according to the chosen group — in the order they appear in the group; each component has its own screen:
    • ID + Liveness — they photograph the front and back of their ID and take a selfie with a short movement in front of the camera. Best done on a mobile phone — they'll get a link or QR code to transfer the verification to it.
    • BankID — they select their bank and log in as they would to online banking; then confirm the sharing of their data.
    • Verification micropayment — a QR code / payment details are displayed; they send a symbolic payment from their account.
    • Questionnaire — they read the text and confirm by ticking a box.
    • Sanctions list check — runs in the background, the verified person does nothing.
  4. Done — the verified person sees confirmation that they have submitted the verification for review. For a document, they can then proceed straight to signing — they don't have to wait for approval.

What if the verified person refuses

The verified person can refuse the verification (stating a reason). The verification ends in the Rejected state and you'll see the reason in its detail — then it's up to you whether to offer them a different group or handle the document some other way.

What if they don't complete it

The verification stays in the Verification in progress state. You can Send again the invitation from the document or contact detail — the link remains valid.
