How to verify electronic signatures in documents using Adobe Acrobat

Electronic signatures are an important tool for ensuring the authenticity and integrity of digital documents. This article will show you how to verify electronic signatures in documents using Adobe Acrobat.


Step 1: Open the document in Adobe Acrobat

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Click File in the top menu and select Open.
  3. Select the document you want to verify and click Open.


Step 2: View the signature panel

  1. Once the document is open, go to the right side of the screen and click on the Signature Panel icon. 
  2. The Signature Panel displays a list of all the signatures in the document.



Step 3: Verification of the electronic signature

  1. In the signature panel, click on the signature you want to verify.
  2. Adobe Acrobat displays details about the signature, including whether the signature is valid, who signed the document, and when the signature was created.
  3. If the signature is valid, you will see a green check mark and the information "Valid Signature". 
    If the signature is invalid, a red check mark and information about the problem with the signature is displayed



Step 4: Further verification and information

  1. Click Signature Properties to view more detailed information about the signature.
  2. In the Signature Details window, you can see information about the certificate that was used for the signature, including the certificate authority and the validity of the certificate.
  3. Click View Certificate Details to explore the details of the certificate.



Verifying electronic signatures with Adobe Acrobat is a simple process that allows you to ensure that the documents you are working with are signed correctly and have not been altered. The validity of signatures in Signi is ensured by certificates and time stamps that are included with the signed documents.
