People do not yet have much experience with electronic signing of documents. It is certainly good practice to inform signatories in advance that they will be sent a document to be electronically signed. Either in person or at least by e-mail. The aim is to reduce the number of cases where the counterparty does not sign the sent document. The only reason for this may be that they do not yet have experience with electronic signatures or do not know what will happen next. Example texts for your inspiration:
