How to generate an API key

The API key is your workspace's password for communicating over the API. Each workspace has its own key.

The Signi API is a paid module. If you don't have it, contact sales@signi.com.

Step 1: Sign in

Sign in at app.signi.com.

Step 2: Open API

In the menu on the left, click API.

Step 3: Enter your password

Enter your password and continue.

Step 4: Select a workspace

Select the workspace you want to generate the key for.

Step 5: Generate the key

Click Generate new API key and copy the key.

Handling the key

• Store the key in a safe place and never send it to anyone — whoever has the key can send and read documents on behalf of your workspace.
• The key does not belong in public code or in shared locations.
• You are responsible for tracking the key's validity — the key has an expiration date, so generate a new one before it expires.
• If you suspect a leak, generate a new key, which invalidates the old one.
