Signi identification according to AML

Modified on Tue, 11 Jun at 10:25 AM

Signi verification enables remote identification/authentication of individuals through a combination of 4 methods:

  • uploading copies of documents,

  • livelihood test via video,

  • microtransaction sent to a specific account and returned back

  • phone verification by entering the PIN from the sent SMS.

As per the requirements of the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML Act), the standard verification includes a combination of document upload, livelihood test, and microtransaction. These methods can optionally be combined for a specific task, for example, it can be configured that only phone verification and livelihood test are required during verification.

Main benefits

  • Quick verification - You'll increase the success rate of deals requiring identification, speed up and reduce the cost of verifying the identity of your customers.

  • Personal data security - User privacy and compliance with legislation are our top priorities.

Do you only need one of the remote identification methods for customer authentication? Typically in B2B e.g. just a selfie and uploading documents? No problem, it is possible to set up a combination of only some methods. Contact us at [email protected], for now this parametric identification cannot be set up directly in the user interface.

How verification works - step by step

For the proposer

Option A: After uploading the document and entering the counterparty/ies into the signature scenario, you will select Signi Verification (formerly AML Verification) from the Verification and Others menu for the individual(s). Verification for the proposer's representatives is not relevant; it is assumed that the proposer has verified team members through other means.

When selecting Signi identification for a contact, you can edit a note (by clicking on the pencil icon next to the note). This note will be included in the verification microtransaction as a message to the recipient. It is limited to 60 characters and does not allow the use of diacritics. The message should include the purpose of verification and the name of the person being verified, and in the case of B2B, also the identification of the verified legal entity.

Option B: Continue to the document content, where you will typically enter signature fields and send. At this point, a notification will be sent to signatories for whom identification is required.

For the verified counterparty

Upon receiving the email notification, click on the "Proceed to Identification" link.

Identification Process

After redirection, proceed to "Proceed to Identity Verification".

Confirm your agreement with the statement by checking the box "I am not a politically exposed person."

Verification via a live photo is up next - follow the moving red dot. If your device doesn't have a camera, you can complete the identification on your mobile phone.

Now, you need to upload two identification documents (ID card, passport, or driver's license) and consent to their storage and submission.

The final step is to pay the identification fee of 10 CZK from your account to verify whether the name on the documents matches the account owner's name. If the contracting party is an individual, the payment must come from their personal account. If the contracting party is a legal entity, the payment must come from their corporate account. Payments via Revolut or similar services cannot be used for verification purposes. The amount will be refunded within two weeks.

You have two payment options to choose from:

  • Bank transfer via payment gateway

  • Regular bank transfer

Payment methods include direct payment from the bank's online banking platform or a regular bank transfer.

The identification micro-payment will be sent via a regular bank transfer based on the details provided in the payment order. In this case as well, the final details of the micro-payment will include the note text (see above), which is a prerequisite for using the payment for Signi identification purposes.

After successfully completing the payment, proceed to the overview of all three identification points, where you can make final adjustments before clicking on "Complete Identification."

Once you complete the identification, an automatic email will be sent to the Proposer, who will review and approve or reject it.

For the proposer after identification is completed

Once you receive the notification email about the completed identification, proceed by clicking on "View Identification Result," or alternatively, display the document in the application and select the "Identification" option under the document's name on the left side.

Email

Application

After reviewing all identification details, you have the option to approve or reject the identification.

In case of rejection, please provide a reason, which will then be sent with the notification to the verified counterparty, who will also be prompted to correct/supplement the information you requested.

In case of approval, you will be prompted to sign and subsequently send the document for signature by the successfully verified counterparty.
