Document Archiving

Modified on Tue, 15 Sep at 11:57 AM

Once a document is completed, Signi can store it in a trusted archive — with certificates and timestamps that maintain the verifiability of signatures throughout the entire archiving period. Via the API, you specify for how many years the document should be archived.

Archiving must be enabled in the workspace — without it, the setting is silently ignored. Arrange this with your contact at Signi.

How to do it

In settings, set archive_expire_years:

{
    "people": [
        { "is_proposer": true, "email": "vas@email.cz", "contract_role": "approve" },
        { "is_proposer": false, "email": "protistrana@email.cz", "contract_role": "sign",
          "first_name": "Jan", "last_name": "Novák", "person_type": "nature",
          "positions": [ { "x": 50, "y": 80, "page": 0 } ] }
    ],
    "settings": {
        "archive_expire_years": 10
    },
    "file": "uploaded_file_key"
}
curl -X POST "https://api.signi.com/api/v1/contract/" \
  -H "x-api-key: VAS_API_KLIC" \
  -F "data=@dokument.json;type=application/json" \
  -F "uploaded_file_key=@dokument.pdf"
  • archive_expire_years — the number of years to archive.
  • If you don't send the field, the workspace setting is used.

Downloading an archived document

A document stored in the archive is downloaded as a ZIP — it contains the document, certificates, and timestamps. If you only want the PDF, add ?ignoreArchive=true.
